Reading Bach Choir is an amateur choir based in Reading, consisting of 40-50 members, passionate about achieving the highest possible standards.

The choir gives four concerts a year, in and around Reading, Berkshire. Some are a cappella and others are with professional soloists & instrumentalists. The repertoire is very varied – from the Renaissance to the 21st century. Programmes are stimulating, sometimes challenging, and often include unusual or lesser known works. There is a particular love for and loyalty to the works of JS Bach but at the same time this is THE amateur choir presenting contemporary, different and yet beautifully accessible choral music.

“Through our performance we want audiences to share with us the excitement of unfamiliar  vocal landscapes  as well as a re-creation of the familiar.”

Music Director, Matthew Hamilton, is an exciting young conductor with a tremendous future ahead of him. He works regularly with the BBC Singers and as chorus master for the LSO and CBSO chorus.
